Working Toward Reconciliation

There are many difficult issues that have faced the Indigenous Peoples of Canada, some of these issues have culminated into tragic circumstances such as the Residential Schools and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

The past few years have introduced ideas and plans to try to reconcile communities when it comes to these issues but it is a long and laborious road to travel on.

What are the steps that have been taken so far toward Reconciliation? What are some of the steps we need to take to continue forward to Reconciliation between the Canadian Government, Churches and Indigenous Peoples? What does true Reconciliation look like for the Canadian non-indigenous communities and the Indigenous Peoples?

Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls

The concerns that surround the tragedies of the Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls are numerous and serious.

There is much confusion amidst the pain and loss experienced from these terrible events, many people are still unaware of the total nature of this problem. The best way to combat this confusion is through open communication.

Julia acts as a voice for those who can no longer speak as shares her own compelling story, as well as clarifying many issues which may be confusing and vague.

Reclaiming Cultural Identity

The term 'decolonization' has been used much lately in regard to Indigenous Cultural Identity. What does this term mean?

How do we work toward reclaiming, learning and authentically living our traditional Indigenous heritage and teachings? How does this fit in and balance with our modern lives and communities? What can we do to promote understanding, learning, and reconciliation in regard to our cultural identity?
